Manage day to day activities of Yard; perform various administrative duties in support of this function. Adjusting and dispatching loads; driver payroll and safety and quality compliance.
Essential Functions
• Provide hands-on supervision of Drivers work assignments to ensure maximum, quality productivity
• Ensure compliance with customer guidelines and requirements
• Identify yard and equipment maintenance needs; initiate repair process, as needed
• Build and adjust loads as required; ensure consistency with Load Factor and Load Efficiency
• Supervise vehicle loading process; provide direction as needed; ensure compliance with loading procedures
o Report load issues to management in a timely manner
• Address quality and safety claims; report trends; ensure timely resolution
• Provide initial and on-going training for Drivers
• Ensure compliance with the company's safety & quality procedures and OSHA/CCOHS/DOT/MOT regulations, as applicable
• Work closely with load planner and Network Planning Department to ensure loads are shipped in a timely manner
• Approve Driver trips, Input Misc. pays daily and make necessary adjustments; submit for payroll processing in a timely manner
• Track employee time; approve Driver trips and make necessary adjustments; submit for payroll processing in a timely manner, as applicable
Physical Abilities and Work Environment
• Physical agility to include, but may not be limited to, walking, standing, sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, lifting up to 100 pounds, pushing, pulling, stretching, climbing and balancing
• Visual acuity, including but may not be limited to, close up and distance, peripheral sight, ability to discern color
• Work effectively in an environment with potential loud noise, extreme heat or cold
• Manual dexterity
• Ability to work around fumes and petroleum products
Requirements

· High school graduate or equivalent
· 2 or more years' relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
· Management experience in the auto transport industry preferred
· Working knowledge of computers and software to include Microsoft Office
