Coordinate activities related to breakdown and repairs for tractors and trailers, including administrative duties to support these tasks.

 Essential Functions

- Provide instructions to drivers regarding breakdown procedures
- Communicate effectively via phone and email with vendors regarding breakdowns and repairs
- Hire vendors to make repairs for trailers and tractors
- Report breakdowns and completion of repairs to shops and terminals
- Track breakdowns and down time
- Manage repair process to ensure compliance with DOT regulations
- Create activity reports
Issue payments to vendors
- Manage warranty process


Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent

  • 2-4 years' experience in a maintenance environment or transportation industry

  • Must be comfortable in office environment, sitting for long extensive periods

  • Attention to detail, excellent organization and communication skills

  • Proficient in the use of Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Basic knowledge and understanding of DOT regulations

  • Sound working knowledge of the mechanics of Class 8 tractor/trailers and mechanic background preferred
