Job Description
Job Summary:
Coordinate and/or perform day-to-day terminal activities related to building, adjusting and dispatching loads; staffing levels, driver payroll and safety and quality compliance.
Shift is Monday through Friday. 8am-5pm
Essential Functions:
· Build and adjust loads as required; ensure consistency with Load Factor and Load Efficiency
· Supervise vehicle loading process; provide direction as needed; ensure compliance with loading procedures
· Dispatch loads
· Update and maintain inventory and load data on a daily basis
· Address quality and safety claims; report trends; ensure timely resolution
· Manage purchase orders daily
· Provide initial and on-going training for Drivers
· Ensure compliance with the company’s safety & quality procedures and OSHA/CCOHS/DOT/MOT regulations, as applicable
· Work closely with Dispatchers and Network Planning Department to ensure loads are shipped in a timely manner
· Provide timely, accurate transit documentation and reports
· Participate in company safety training and ensure employee participation
· Track employee time; approve Driver trips and make necessary adjustments; submit for payroll processing in a timely manner, as applicable
· Ensure staffing levels are consistent with labor demand
· Establish and maintain strong working relationships with vendors and customers
· Participate in weekly Terminal update meetings as required
· Foster a work environment consistent with the values, vision, mission, policies and procedures of the company
· Supervise, lead and manage fairly and equitably, in accordance with Jack Cooper’s policies and procedures , collective bargaining agreements and applicable laws

Physical Abilities:
· Agility to include, but may not be limited to, walking, standing, sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, pushing, pulling, stretching, climbing and balancing
· Visual acuity, including but may not be limited to, close up and distance, peripheral sight, ability to discern color
· Effective oral and written communication
· Manual dexterity
· Ability to work around fumes and petroleum products
Requirements
Requirements:
· High school graduate or equivalent
· 2 or more years’ relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
· Valid driver’s license
· Ability to effectively manage time and priorities
· Excellent, customer service, and communication skills
· Solid understanding of DOT/MOT and OSHA/CCOSA regulations, as applicable
· Working knowledge of computers and programs to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
· Ability to obtain CPR
